Eric was born in NYC and raised in NJ close to the city where his dad worked as a studio musician. He has been a musician, vocalist, orchestrator, song writer, entertainer and band leader since age 14 when he played his first gig. With his family he moved to Las Vegas when he was 18. There he started working at the Las Vegas Recording Studio with many top Las Vegas acts. He moved to Los Angeles in 1975 and in 1992 he started a 10-piece jazz/swing band, the Eric Ekstrand Ensemble. He is also in demand as perhaps the top specialist of Ballroom Dance music in the Los Angeles area. He is always ready to take requests and keep his audience happy and dancing. Eric always brings enthusiasm, sincerity, and love for his audience when he performs.
